Top 5 Reasons to start an apprenticeship

This week is National Apprenticeship Week! This is a great time to celebrate the benefits of embarking on such journey. Our staff, who are experts in apprenticeships training, have shared their favourite reasons why you should start an apprenticeship. Now’s the perfect occasion for exploring what starting an apprenticeship means for you!

Number 5. No debt

If you’re trying to find your passion or career, university can seem like an easy route to take if you don’t know what to do. But you will come out of it with £27,000 plus in debt. With an apprenticeship there is no debt at all, all the funding comes from the government or the employer, and there is no need to pay it back. Plus, you’ll be earning money. It’s a win-win! 🤑

Number 4. Opportunity to get your level 2 Maths and English qualifications

After GCSEs, you may have received a 3/D or below in Maths and/or English. By doing an apprenticeship, you can work towards getting a level 2 qualification in both subjects, this is equivalent to a grade C or 4 or above. Not only will this help your CV in regards to showing that you’re willing to work hard to improve, but it can be a lot of fun and provide another aspect to your apprenticeship!

Number 3. Gain confidence and learn what it’s like to work in a team

We’re in the post-pandemic world and connecting with new people has become harder than ever before. An apprenticeship allows you to work in a team of experts who can support you. Not only will this help your confidence as you will be talking to people of all different demographics but it’ll help you make new friends with people you’d maybe not have met otherwise.

Number 2. Gain Practical, industry-relevant experience!

The job market is always ever-changing and relevant work history has become more sought after than ever before. Employers want to see proactive young people who want to work, an apprenticeship solves this! After completing your apprenticeship you will come out with a whopping 1-2 years of work experience. Far more than what you gain at college.

Number 1. Earn whilst you learn!

When I asked the staff, everyone agreed that this is the best reason to set sail upon your voyage as an apprentice. An apprenticeship is the best of both worlds, not only will you receive at least the apprenticeship national minimum wage (a lot of companies pay more!) but you also receive a qualification alongside this.

We don’t know about you (and yes, we may be technically biased) but we think these are some brilliant reasons to begin your journey as an apprentice!
