The Success of the Globetrotting Digital Marketing Apprentice

The success of the Globetrotting Digital Marketing Apprentice

Luke’s inspiring journey started as a Digital Marketing Apprentice and within just two years, he was traveling around the globe as part of a successful digital marketing team

Luke is a former Digital Marketing Apprentice and is now Digital Product Specialist working at Leisure Electronics, a Hull-based software development and digital hardware business within the games industry.

Luke’s journey started with an apprenticeship application to HBTC. From there we discussed opportunities, and after smashing the interview, Luke secured an apprenticeship with Leisure Electronics.

The idea of gaining experience over University was always a great selling point to Luke when he was weighing up his options.

Luke’s responsibilities at the start of the apprenticeship were creating graphical designs, software testing and managing social media. His role at Leisure Electronics was forever evolving during his apprenticeship, being given more control and freedom with the marketing aspect of the business but also with some of their most precious entertainment projects. Due to his successes and responsibilities he has managed to take on, he has now attended multiple homeland and abroad business trips (London, Dublin & Gibraltar) and is looking to hopefully complete even more!

The new role he has taken on is now a Digital Product Specialist. Which entails being responsible for overseeing the marketing and ensuring all digital projects for the company are running as efficiently as possible.

We decided to ask Luke some additional questions about his apprenticeship, here’s what we said

Being able to adapt things I learnt in the apprenticeship into my day to day job

How do you think you have developed as a person and professionally during your Apprenticeship?

I’ve definitely grown in confidence as a person, working with different departments had made me a more outgoing person

What advice would you give to others thinking about doing an Apprenticeship?

After working with Leisure Electronics for nearly 2 years, I can see the journey we have been on. I want to continue being on this journey as we have high aspirations for ourselves and want to achieve a collective goal

What would you say about HBTC?

They always put the learners first, always there if you need anything
