IT Support Technician

An IT support company are looking to take on an experienced IT Support Technician to join their team growing team

The role is perfect for someone with brilliant customer service skills alongside being highly organised and has previous experience working in an IT Support role

Job purpose

  • Log faults raised by the Customer via email/telephone into our ticketing system.
  • Provide remote IT support to our customers with regards to IT hardware, Applications and Network/Telephone
  • systems.
  • Monitor Customer backups on premise/cloud
  • Log & investigate Server alerts raised by our monitoring system

Skills & Knowledge

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience supporting IT infrastructure and desktop systems within a multi-site
  • environment.
  • Windows server 2016, 2019, 2022 (virtual servers, AD/Group Policy, Security Policies)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Azure and 365 platforms (Email, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Excellent understanding of networking, switches, firewalls, VPN, network services (DHCP, DNS etc)
  • Experience of providing VOIP solutions
  • Good working knowledge and conformity to Cyber Security practices.
  • In depth knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Office 365
  • Able to build desktop and server environments for deployment, cloud and physical.
  • Resolve equipment issues and faults over the telephone and in person.
  • Carry out systems checks, solve problems, monitor and escalate where necessary.
  • Maintaining IT procedures and documentation
  • Tenacity to go that extra mile and think outside the box to resolve incidents.
  • Providing technical support for a range of external and internal applications, operating systems and hardware
    and achieve customer SLA’s.
  • Experience with onsite/offsite backup products and storage (including cloud storage)
  • Great all-round technical understanding
  • Good working knowledge and conformity to security practises
  • Have a self-managed, self-learning and keen service-based approach to working.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
  • Must have a full UK driving licence.
    Desirable
  • Knowledge of non-Microsoft systems, e.g.
  • Apple Mac, mobile devices, linux,
  • ITIL, Apple Certifications, Microsoft Certifications, CompTIA Certifications

Location: Hull

Wage: £25,000-£28,000 dependant on experience
