Ben: The International Marketing Sensation!

Ben: The International Marketing Sensation!

Read here about how Ben excelled in his digital marketing apprenticeship and has now become a Marketing Executive!

Meet Ben, one of our recent achievers from the L3 Digital Marketing apprenticeship program offered here at HBTC. Ben is a dedicated employee who currently works at Evoke Technologies. He excels at designing and executing marketing campaigns through various digital channels including email and social media. His primary objective is to effectively promote the products and services of Evoke Technologies to the target audience.

Not only that, but Ben also creates marketing material for events that Evoke Technologies attends including brochures, banners etc. Website maintenance is also a huge aspect of Ben’s role as he updates new products, blog posts, web pages and monitors analytics on all their digital platforms.

Ben began his career at Evoke Technologies as a Sales Administrator, but as time passed he began to take control of Evoke Technologies online branding. At the time Ben did have an interest in marketing and Evoke Technologies saw that completing the apprenticeship would benefit both parties. Evoke Technologies was looking to bring its online marketing in-house and saw the L3 Digital Marketing qualification as an excellent opportunity to save money and develop existing staff. Ben saw this opportunity as a brilliant way to upskill and help progress the company.

What Ben most enjoyed about the apprenticeship was developing both himself personally and Evoke Technologies with his new knowledge at the same time! Ben’s confidence blossomed throughout the apprenticeship helping him develop his character and bring a new level of maturity to events and expos.

Ben has always been creative and thrived in this new working environment. He previously studied art and graphic design A-levels and went on to University to study architecture. However, Ben decided that the course wasn’t for him but was still looking for a role where he could work creatively, which is when he discovered digital marketing.

With the support Evoke Technologies has provided Ben, he has reached dizzying heights in his role and even was nominated as a finalist for the People in Business Awards 2022 as Apprentice of the Year for Hull and East Yorkshire. He received the nomination based on demonstrating commitment to his personal development, having high ambition for progression and showing great contribution in a short space of time within the team.

To add to this, Ben has been recognised by SMART Technologies and has been referenced and acknowledged internationally at SMART’s head office in Calgary, Canada on a few occasions by their Executives, with his Channel Manager saying how Ben “captured the SMART messaging perfectly” and created awareness with eye-catching material. Plus, out of all the resellers/partners across social media, Evoke Technologies was picked out by SMART.

We asked Ben ‘What advice would you give to others thinking about doing an Apprenticeship?’

“After deciding continuing my study of architecture wasn’t what was best for me at the time, I was slightly hesitant in looking into an apprenticeship, however since starting with HBTC I have never looked back and have enjoyed the entirety of the course – with big thanks going to my tutor Sophie.

The skills you learn through an apprenticeship are invaluable so you should go for it. As long as you are proactive while learning (ask questions/show enthusiasm/work to the best of your ability) just see how far you go personally throughout.”

To become internationally recognised as an apprentice is an outstanding feat and can only be attributed to his hard work and skills. As of now, Ben goes from strength to strength at Evoke Technologies by applying his knowledge to help develop and expand the business further!
