A Teaching Assistant apprentice will act as a good role model to the students. They will display honesty and integrity, behave well and contribute to planning and class activities. They will promote Fundamental British Values and positive behaviours which are important for improving pupil progress and development.

This apprenticeship will help you become a good Teaching Assistant and an important member of School staff. It also provides a strong foundation for potential career progression in the educational sector, including Higher Level Teaching Assistant and Teacher roles.

Entry requirements for Teaching Assistant apprenticeship are determined by each individual School. However, GCSE 4 or 5 grade (C or above) in Maths and English is usually required as a minimum. Some experience of working with children is advantageous but not essential.

The typical duration of the Teaching Assistant apprenticeship is 18 months. Throughout the apprenticeship the vast majority of you time will be working within the School. However, there will be some off-the-job training with your training provider.
