Meet the Staff: Ryan
Ryan is our Administrator here at HBTC and has worked here for a whopping 8 and half years! In this time he has witnessed a new king being crowned, England suffering heartbreak at the Euros final, an entire pandemic and 5 different Prime Ministers!
We decided to ask him some questions to help YOU get to know Ryan much better
What is your job title and what entails within your role?
My official job title is Administrator which entails completing sign-up paperwork with apprentices at the start of their programme, I also facilitate any exams that learners need to sit throughout their apprenticeship. Other tasks include sorting attendance, registering learners for their courses, organising certificates for collection & much more.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
I enjoy that my role is varied with each day bringing different challenges. It’s also rewarding to see learners progress throughout their apprenticeships.
If you could travel to any location on Earth. Where would you choose and why?
I’m not the most well-traveled person so there are plenty of places I haven’t been. I’ve always been interested though in travelling to America after hearing how good it is from friends and family.
Do you believe in aliens?
Of course, all these galaxies we have out there. Surely one has to be different life forms knocking about. I just hope they’re friendlier than the movies make them out to be if we ever do cross paths!
What’s your favourite takeaway?
It all depends on the situation, for a chilled weekend in, it’s got to be a Chinese. After a big night out has to be a mixed Kebab with plenty of garlic sauce to finish off the night.
What’s your favourite TV show?
I don’t watch a ton of TV shows as I’m mainly watching sports if it’s on. Breaking Bad would probably be my favourite of all time although also a big fan of Top Boy, Peep Show & the Inbetweeners.
Who is your favourite artist/band?
I like a lot of different musicians and genres but I would say my favourite is Post Malone. He blends a lot of genres & his songs are mega catchy. My favourite album from him would be B&B but Stoney is a very close second!

Toby is our Learner Engagement Marketing Apprentice and is involved with all things social media and content development. He is also responsible for attending careers events and delivering presentations.
