Receptionist and Salesroom Admin Assistant Apprentice

From fridges to helicopters, their weekly auctions are packed with excitement, and they are looking for a motivated apprentice to join their friendly canalside team in Goole.
At Spicers, you’ll be part of a tight-knit group of photographers, cataloguers, valuers, clerks, and admin staff who work together to make their busy auction house run smoothly. They’re proud of their apprentices; several have grown with them into key team members, including their Lead Photographer and Medals Specialist, who both started as apprentices!
Key Responsibilities
As a Receptionist & Salesroom Admin Assistant Apprentice, you’ll be the friendly face and helpful voice that keeps their auctions running seamlessly. You’ll:
- Welcome visitors and answer phone calls with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Assist vendors bringing items for auction and buyers collecting their goods
- Manage paperwork and enter information into their bespoke auction software
- Support the team with filing, Microsoft Office tasks, and accurate data entry
- Help keep everything organised so their busy salesroom runs like clockwork
Skills & Knowledge
- Clear written and spoken English
- Confident, polite, and helpful communication style
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) – full training provided for everything else
- A team player who’s eager to learn and support colleagues
- Someone who can reliably travel to their Goole salesroom
