Sight Support is looking for a Multi-channel Marketing Assistant/Donor Journey Apprentice to join their team in Hull!

As a Multi-Channel Marketing Assistant / Donor Journey Apprentice, you’ll contribute to how Sight Support communicates with supporters, shares stories, and builds lasting relationships with donors. From shaping digital content to supporting fundraising activity, your work will help ensure every interaction feels thoughtful, engaging, and valued, while you develop practical skills and confidence along the way.
Key Responsibilities
Digital & Multi-Channel Marketing
- Create and schedule content across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X)
- Update website pages and upload content using a CMS
- Support the creation of marketing materials (leaflets, posters, print, and digital assets)
- Assist with the distribution, logging, and tracking of printed materials
- Design simple graphics and short-form content in line with brand guidelines
- Support email campaigns and digital newsletters
- Monitor and report on campaign performance
Online Giving & Fundraising Campaigns
- Support the setup and promotion of online fundraising pages
- Assist with campaign messaging, visuals, and supporter updates
- Help track campaign performance and donor engagement
Donor Journey & Supporter Engagement
- Welcome new donors and send thank-you communications
- Support the delivery of donor updates and engagement activities
- Communicate with supporters via email, phone, and digital platforms
- Assist with donor retention and stewardship
Data, Records & Administration
- Maintain accurate donor records using CRM systems
- Ensure data is handled in line with GDPR
- Support reporting on campaigns and donor activity
- Provide general admin support to the team
Learning & Development
- Take part in apprenticeship training and development sessions
- Build skills in marketing, content creation, and donor engagement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and partners
Skills & Knowledge
Essential:
- Interest in digital marketing, communications, and supporter engagement
- Experience creating digital content (social posts, graphics, or simple videos)
- Confidence using social media platforms
- Willingness to learn or experience using a CMS
- Creative approach to content and communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage tasks with support
- Basic IT skills (email, documents, spreadsheets)
- Willingness to learn CRM/database systems
- Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
- Commitment to our values and mission
Desirable:
- Familiarity with multi-channel marketing (print and digital)
- Awareness of online fundraising platforms
- Basic understanding of data protection and confidentiality principles
- Experience with tools like Canva
