IT Helpdesk Engineer

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to clients, ensuring that all issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of software systems, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level technical support for Windows and Linux operating systems
- Troubleshoot software issues, including application errors and system malfunctions
- Support users with VPN connectivity issues and firewall configurations
- Manage helpdesk tickets using the Remedy system, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Deliver desktop support for hardware and peripheral issues, including network devices
- Collaborate with internal teams to escalate unresolved issues and implement long-term solutions
- Maintain clear documentation of support processes and user interactions
- Communicate effectively with users to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
Skills & Knowledge
- Proven experience in a Technical Support / Helpdesk or 2nd Line Support role
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Proficiency in Firewall management and configuration
- Knowledge of VPN technologies within corporate environments
- Solid desktop support and software troubleshooting experience
- Experience with MS OS, TCP/IP networks, and Office 365
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving
- A full driving licence
- A positive attitude
- A genuine love of all things IT
