As a Health Care Navigator/Admin Assistant Apprentice, you’ll be an important part of the front-line team, helping patients access the care and support they need. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a busy GP practice, learning how a healthcare environment works while completing your apprenticeship qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Greeting patients and handling reception duties
Answering and making telephone calls in a professional manner
Booking, amending, and cancelling medical appointments
Responding to patient queries and signposting to appropriate services
Managing incoming post and medical records
Processing repeat prescriptions accurately
Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
General administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and office support

Skills & Knowledge

Polite, friendly, and approachable
Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
A clear communicator, both verbally and in writing
A good listener with a professional telephone manner
Able to communicate sensitively and respectfully with people from all backgrounds
Confident using basic computer systems
Grades 4 or above in GCSE English and Maths (or willingness to work towards them as part of the apprenticeship)
