As an Accounts Apprentice, you will support the Finance Director, sales, and office teams while providing an efficient and professional service to both internal and external customers. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your career in finance within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Credit control duties (chasing payments, sending monthly statements)
- Storage and general invoicing
- Checking supplier statements against ledger details
- Managing supplier payments
- Posting the cashbook
- Bank statement reconciliations
- Petty cash reconciliation and entry
- Credit card reconciliations and invoicing
- Prepayments and accruals
- Handling purchase and sales ledger queries
- Approving supplier invoices against receipted information
- Supporting month-end accounting processes
- Closing off process paperwork and assessing variations
- Job costing analysis
- Preparing costings and entering data into bespoke systems
- Customer reporting to deadlines
- Stock control duties
Additional Learning & Development
- Training on telephone systems, handling, and directing calls
- Processing orders (sales orders to invoicing, purchasing to supplier payments)
- Understanding how different departments contribute to the business
- Supporting general office tasks as needed
Skills & Knowledge
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths (or equivalent)
- Minimum Grade C/4 in GCSE English (or equivalent)
