Teaching Assistant Apprentice
Stockwell Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join its Foundation Stage team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children’s learning and development while gaining valuable experience and qualifications through an apprenticeship.
Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, the successful candidate will play an important role in creating a positive, engaging, and nurturing learning environment for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in enhancing and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Work within a stimulating, play-based learning environment.
- Support the delivery of phonics sessions and small-group activities.
- Assist with intervention programmes and targeted group work under the direction of the class teacher.
- Help prepare learning resources and classroom activities.
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, and educational development.
- Support pupils to engage positively in learning activities.
- Promote a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to meet the needs of all learners.
Skills & Knowledge
- GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics (or equivalent qualification).
- Good IT skills and confidence using basic computer applications.
- Reliable, honest, and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- A genuine interest in the development and education of Foundation Stage children.
- Friendly, confident, and approachable with a good sense of humour.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
