Mental Health Trainer
Think Mental Health, a people-focused Mental Health Training organisation in Hull, is looking for a passionate and skilled part-time Mental Health Trainer.
As a Mental Health Trainer, you will be required to deliver high-quality, engaging learning experiences to learners, managers, and organisations across Hull and the surrounding areas. You will play a pivotal role in developing knowledge, practical skills, and confidence around mental health, enabling individuals and workplaces to thrive. This is a varied and rewarding role combining delivery, learner support, assessment, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging training sessions, workshops, and tutorials aligned to curriculum requirements and learner needs
- Deliver consistently high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment practice
- Create inclusive, dynamic learning environments that encourage participation, confidence, and professional growth
- Assess learners’ abilities, identify development areas, and tailor learning approaches accordingly
- Provide individualised learner support through one-to-one sessions and additional resources
- Set, mark, and provide constructive feedback on assignments, tests, and assessments
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes in line with quality and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, support curriculum development, and contribute to team meetings
- Communicate effectively with learners, employers, and stakeholders to support learner success
- Stay up to date with sector developments, curriculum changes, and teaching methodologies
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and quality standards
Skills & Knowledge
Essential:
- Minimum Level 3 teaching, learning and assessment qualification (e.g. AET or PTLLS), or willingness to work towards
- Teaching or training experience, with the ability to clearly convey complex information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver effective training
- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to tailor learning to different learning styles
- IT literacy to create and manage digital learning resources
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience in curriculum development and creating educational materials
- Knowledge or experience relating to neurodiversity, sexual harassment, or domestic abuse
