Tweendykes School is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Admin Apprentice to join their busy and welcoming school office team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start a career in administration within a supportive school environment where no two days are the same.

Within the Tweendykes School office, you will join a team of four friendly and supportive administrative staff. They work in a fast-paced environment and pride themselves on being welcoming, professional, and dedicated to supporting their pupils, families, and staff.

Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people is central to everything they do, and all staff are expected to share this commitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception and general administration duties
  • Presenting a welcoming and friendly manner, dealing sensitively with visitors, pupils, parents/carers, and staff
  • Answering incoming calls efficiently and professionally
  • Taking responsibility for the incoming and outgoing daily post
  • Managing and monitoring school information management systems to ensure all data is accurate, up to date, secure, and compliant with Data Protection requirements
  • Collating information for school events such as discos and coffee mornings
  • Sending, receiving, and maintaining parental consent documentation for pupil trips and visits
  • Monitoring and managing office stock within an agreed budget
  • Gathering information, distributing letters to parents/carers, and producing a termly school newsletter
  • Managing admin emails and weekly diary tasks
  • Reporting faults to the Line Manager
  • Managing cashless payments and promoting the School Money system for dinners, uniforms, and clubs
  • Supporting the management and regular updating of the school website

Skills & Knowledge

  • Ability to work in a busy office environment while remaining professional under pressure
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional personality
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
