IT Support Apprentice
OnTeck is looking for a motivated IT Support Apprentice to join their friendly, family-feel team in Beverley. If you’re passionate about technology, enjoy solving problems, and want to build a career in IT, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn from industry professionals while earning and gaining real-world experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Working alongside the Helpdesk Team to deliver excellent IT support
- Ticket management: handling customer enquiries and technical issues through the ticketing system
- Working with RMM systems and cybersecurity tools
- system health checks
- patching and updates
- managing security posture and proactive support to prevent issues
- Customer interaction: providing technical support via phone and email, including more complex problems as your skills grow
- Participating in in-house training sessions and learning from experienced IT professionals
- Developing both technical knowledge and soft skills through structured apprenticeship learning
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of IT, hardware, operating systems, and cloud software
- Ability to work well in a team with good communication skills
- Friendly, positive nature and professional attitude
- Basic troubleshooting mindset – able to follow logical steps and document what you tried
- Willingness to follow processes and use ticketing systems (experience not required)
Desirable but not essential:
- Exposure to Windows operating systems (home or school use counts!)
- Interest in IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ / Network+ or vendor-specific paths
- Any hands-on hobbyist experience – building PCs, gaming setups, coding basics, etc.
- Basic understanding of networking – routers, Wi-Fi, firewalls
