IT Helpdesk Engineer

As an IT Helpdesk Engineer, you’ll be a key player in delivering first-class technical support to their diverse client base. You’ll diagnose and resolve issues across desktops, servers, and networks, ensuring systems run smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll also get hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies, from Windows and Linux systems to firewall management, VPNs, and Active Directory, and work alongside a supportive, collaborative team that truly values your contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide desktop and server support to end users.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues within agreed SLAs.
- Log and track issues through the helpdesk system, escalating when required.
- Support and maintain Windows Server, desktops, and Office 365 environments.
- Set up and configure new laptops, desktops, and user accounts (AD & Email).
- Manage and monitor backups, antivirus software, and firewall devices.
- Assist with small to medium IT projects and system upgrades.
- Maintain detailed documentation of client systems and technical procedures.
- Provide on-site support (including a rota for local school coverage).

- Proven experience in an IT Support / Helpdesk / 2nd Line Support role.
- Solid understanding of Windows & Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of firewall configuration, VPN setup, and Active Directory management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- A full driving licence with access to reliable transport, and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Hands-on experience with MS OS, TCP/IP networking, and Office 365.
- A genuine love of all things IT and a desire to keep learning.
