Senior IT Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join a dynamic and fast-paced IT Support Service company. This is a key role within the company’s technical support function, where you will help ensure the smooth delivery of IT services, support escalations, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
As a Senior IT Engineer, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day running of the service desk and infrastructure support function. You will be responsible for handling escalated technical issues, managing incoming workload effectively, and ensuring service levels are consistently met. You will also act as a point of guidance for less experienced team members, helping to develop skills across the team while maintaining high standards of customer service.
This role is best suited to someone calm under pressure, highly organised, and confident working across multiple systems and priorities. Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of escalated technical issues and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor, prioritise, and allocate incoming tickets based on urgency and impact
- Support incident management processes, including security-related events
- Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors where required
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior engineers and apprentices
- Contribute to process improvements and service efficiency initiatives
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and knowledge base articles
- Deliver high-quality support across a range of infrastructure and cloud technologies
You will work across a broad range of technologies, including:
- Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
- Windows Server infrastructure
- Networking and connectivity (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs)
- IT security tools and incident response processes
- Remote monitoring and management (RMM) and ticketing platforms
Skills & Knowledge
- At least 3 years’ experience in IT support or infrastructure roles
- Experience in a senior, 2nd line, or 3rd line technical position
- Strong understanding of IT service management and ticketing systems
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues
- Must have the ability to commute to the site
- Full UK driving licence and transport required
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and a high standard of work
- A positive, team-focused attitude

Wage: £30k-£35k per year
