Georgia: The Incredible Account Manager Apprentice
Georgia’s rise at Orovia has been nothing short of remarkable. From starting as an Account Manager Apprentice to now holding the position of Product and Payment Specialist, her journey reflects extraordinary progress made in a short period. It’s worth noting that Georgia was still a South Hunsley 6th Former until the summer of 2022.

We first learned about Georgia through her A-Level business teacher Sarah Barley who let HBTC know that Georgia was seeking an apprenticeship rather than pursuing a degree. Georgia’s preference for an apprenticeship stemmed from the opportunity it offered to combine studying with a workplace setting. With assistance from the recruitment team at HBTC, she secured a role at Orovia.
Georgia particularly adored her role as an Account Manager Apprentice, as it involved aspects of customer service, an area she finds very interesting. Throughout her apprenticeship, Georgia acquired a wealth of skills and knowledge that she could apply to her job. She found working on her project towards the end of her apprenticeship particularly fulfilling, where she discussed the process they had developed for new customers at her workplace.
After completing her apprenticeship, Georgia secured a permanent position at Orovia and has since transitioned into a new role in the Payments and Pensions department, which she is incredibly excited about. This role entails significantly more responsibility compared to her time as an apprentice, but her apprenticeship has equipped her with the confidence to handle it.
As a Product and Payment Specialist, one of Georgia’s main responsibilities is to process the monthly payments for Schools and Trusts around the country. Georgia does this for around 200 customers which equates to around £50 million processed each month by herself. Wow!
The advice Georgia would give to any considering an apprenticeship is:
It’s a really great alternative if you don’t think University is for you! It gives you the work experience to help you move forward in your career, combined with another qualification in something more suited to the workplace i.e. mine was in Customer Service.
Georgia believes that apprenticeships are an excellent way to integrate younger individuals into the workforce, as they bring fresh ideas, practices, and procedures based on their current studies.
Looking ahead, Georgia is hopeful of completing a business-related degree and continuing her employment at Orovia. If this has inspired you to start your apprenticeship journey, we have lots of vacancies in Hull, Grimsby and Scunthorpe for you to check out!
