Support Liam’s Darts Marathon Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust: A Bullseye for a Brilliant Cause
On Saturday, 17th May 2025, Liam Lovelock, who is now in remission of stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, is taking aim, not just at the dartboard, but at making a real difference, as he hosts a Darts Marathon at The Ravenser Pub in Hull, in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.
Running from midday to midnight, this marathon darts session is more than just a local event, it’s Liam’s way of giving back after a long and difficult health journey.
liam’s journey: from diagnosis to determination

In 2023, Liam was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Despite undergoing six months of chemotherapy, his cancer persisted, requiring further treatment and a stem cell transplant in May 2024. After months of chemotherapy and intensive care, Liam is now in remission.
Grateful for the care and support he received, Liam is turning his energy towards helping others. He’s fundraising for Teenage Cancer Trust, the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialised support for young people with cancer.
why teenage cancer trust?
Every day, seven young people aged 13–24 hear the life-changing words: “You have cancer.” Teenage Cancer Trust ensures that these young people don’t face it alone. They provide dedicated nurses, youth workers, and tailored hospital spaces, helping patients not only survive but continue to live full, vibrant lives.
By supporting Liam’s fundraiser, you’re helping make sure every young person diagnosed with cancer gets the specialist care and support they need, when they need it most.
hbtc staff stepping up in support
We’re proud to say that several staff members from HBTC will be joining Liam at The Ravenser to show their support. One of them is Sophie, one of our amazing assessors and a close friend of Liam’s, who will be picking up a few darts herself on the day.
Their presence reflects the spirit of community and compassion that makes events like this so powerful.
