A Season of Giving: HBTC Supports RSPCA, Sight Support & Save the Children
December 2025 was a particularly meaningful month at HBTC, as our team came together to support three fantastic charities through fundraising, donations, and community involvement. While it was a busy end to the year, it was also an incredibly rewarding one, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to causes that make a real difference both locally and globally.
Supporting Local Animals with RSPCA Hull & East Riding

Our first charity initiative of December focused on supporting the RSPCA Hull & East Riding Branch. Organised by our Digital Marketing Apprentice, Emily, the donation drive encouraged colleagues to contribute items to help care for the dogs and cats currently at the rescue centre.
Thanks to the generosity of the public and our team, we were able to collect a wide range of essential supplies, including food, toys, and practical items that will directly support the animals in the charity’s care. Emily and our Recruitment Administrator, Mya, personally delivered the donations to the centre, where they were warmly received.

The RSPCA Hull & East Riding Branch has been supporting vulnerable animals in the region for over a century. As a self-funded charity, their work relies heavily on donations, fundraising, and volunteers. With their rescue facilities constantly at capacity, contributions like these play an important role in helping them continue their vital mission of rehabilitation, rehoming, and community education.

Giving Back to Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire
Our second charity effort was organised by our Business Development Advisor, Louise, in aid of Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire, a local organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people living with sight loss. Throughout 2025, donations were collected in the HBTC office for Sight Support’s much-loved Teddy Tombola.

Emily and Mya visited Sight Support to drop off the donated items, which will help raise funds to sustain the charity’s services. Sight Support has been supporting people across Hull and East Yorkshire since 1864, offering emotional support, practical guidance, and social opportunities that help reduce isolation and promote independence.
The charity helps thousands of local people and receives no government funding, making community donations essential. We’re proud to have played a small part in helping them continue their incredible work for people at all stages of sight loss.

Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children
Rounding off our charity initiatives, our team took part in Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children. Staff donned their festive jumpers and made donations to one of the UK’s largest and most impactful children’s charities.

Christmas Jumper Day is a nationwide fundraising event that supports children in the UK and around the world, helping to keep them safe, healthy, and learning. Save the Children works in over 100 countries, providing both emergency aid and long-term support to give children the opportunity for a brighter future.
By taking part, our team helped contribute to life-changing programmes that support education, healthcare, nutrition, and child protection for children facing some of the toughest challenges globally.

December 2025 truly highlighted the generosity and spirit within our local community. From supporting local animal welfare and sight loss services to contributing to a global children’s charity, our team and the public showed how small actions can collectively make a big difference. We’re incredibly proud and appreciative of everyone who took part and look forward to continuing our charity efforts throughout the year ahead.
