Administrative Professionals Day 2022

Administrative Professionals Day 2022

Administrators are a vital part of any business, keeping everything organised and allowing business to function on a day to day basis. Administrators contribute to the efficiency of organisations through supporting functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested.   The flexibility and responsiveness required allows administrators to develop a wide range of skills.

After the end of World War II, there was a boom in post-war businesses and birth-rate decline from the depression era which resulted in a shortage of people with administrative skills. The National Secretaries Association formed in 1942 to try to attract workers to the field and to support their development and recognise their contributions to the economy. In 1952 the National Secretaries Association created Professional Secretaries Day which was celebrated on the Wednesday of the last full week in April. In 2000 the name was changed to Administrative Professionals Day with the hope of encompassing the diverse roles and responsibilities those within the field have.

Why Should We Celebrate Administrative Professionals Day?

  • They work hard
  • Administrators do a lot of day to day work that allows the business to function and run smoothly.
  • They improve the work environment
  • They create order in an environment that could easily become very chaotic.
  • They deserve more recognition

Administrators work in the background and often go unnoticed but without them, most businesses would fall apart which is why we think our administrators need a shout out today!
